I Love my CRICUT & GYPSY!!

My two favorite gadgets are "The Cricut" and its best friend "Gypsy". I wanted to share a photo of what the Cricut looks like because I talk about it often and some people think I'm referring to a cell phone company or some sort of crustacean.

Baby Shower Inviations

I just wanted to share a couple of pictures with everyone of an order I just completed for cute and simple baby shower invitations. I've crossed out personal information on the inside of the invite. In the coming week I will also be making coordinating favor bags and a banner as well. Check back soon to see photos.

Remain Optimistic

Today started out as a bad day, as a result I had a song by Monica (1990's) running through my head Its just one of those days , feel free to sing along if you know the words. Just to give an example of the antics that took place, my cell phone took a dive into the bathtub (thanks Shailyn) and spent the remainder of the day in a ziplock bag full of rice. I am happy to report that as of "press time" it does work! Thank you to whoever came up with that genius idea, you just saved me $200.

Also, I am pleased to report that a couple of items I made were chosen to be in the My Pink Stamper Gallery! You can view it at www.mypinkstamper.com - click on Gallery - then click on Potpourri Basket, there you will find a birthday card that I made for my sister. Also, from the main Gallery, if you click on Plantin Schoolbook you will find a favor bag for a baby shower. Both items have CreationsbyCM written underneath them, and if you scroll over them you will find a description of how the items were made.

I am really excited that these items were featured on My Pink Stampers site. This motivates me to create more, and of course list them on Etsy. creationsbycm.etsy.com

My youngest daughter turns one in a couple of weeks and will begin daycare the next day. It is bittersweet, I will miss her so much but it will allow me more time to complete my school work and of course CREATE items for my Etsy site. Hopefully by the end of this year I will have finally earned my Bachelors Degree and also have consistent sales on Etsy. Is it too late to make that my New Year's Resolution?

The important theme is to remain optimistic, therefore I look forward to the challenges that I will undoubtedly face in the future.

Have a great week!

Her story, her way.

It's official, my husband has begun his first deployment. This year will definitely bring many challenges for us, but my hope is that in the end our family will be stronger because of it.

Our oldest daughter, Arianna, is now 7 years old and is excelling in reading and writing in school. In order to promote her writing skills and creativity I am going to have her start a scrapbook. This scrapbook is going to be all about her... it will be her story, expressed her way.

Some items that I will suggest for her to put in are:
*letters to her dad
*pictures from holidays, soccer games, etc.
*drawings, etc.

My hope is that she will complete a 1 or 2 page layout every week. I think her father will really appreciate her taking her time to share her stories with him. We will also love to look at the scrapbook for years to come.

After writing this, I realize that maybe this is something I should consider doing as well. It will be interesting to compare my views on a particular event to my daughters.

We're going to get started this week, I'll be sure to post photos of the scrapbook periodically if Arianna gives me permission to share them.

Have a great week!

Time to Get Focused!

Well the time has come... my husband is about to deploy and I have never been more determined to get my home business up and running. I've been working hard to create cards and favors to list on Etsy. Success will provide me with the opportunity to work from home and be able to be a constant in the lives of my children while my husband serves in the military.

I'll be posting a few samples soon. Needless to say, I have ALOT of work to do. Have a great week!
